Planning Consent for Lidl, Whiteley
Planning consent has been granted for a new 2,500sqm store at Whiteley, close to Junction 9 of the M27. SMA is pleased to have assisted Lidl with the technical support on transportation and drainage.
Inspiring the next generation of Engineers
On Wednesday 25th April, representatives from Stuart Michael Associates visited Kennet School, Thatcham to present the range of interesting careers in engineering to a class of female students, with the hope to inspire the next generation.
The school were very grateful for Claire’s and Karren’s time, enthusiasm and sharing of experiences to encourage female students to progress further in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects this week.
After a short introductory presentation of how both Claire and Karren found their careers in engineering, it was time for the students to get involved. This included various Masterplanning (group discussions on designing their own town), Design and Emergency Planning exercises, which provided the students with a thought-provoking and enjoyable afternoon.
Claire commented “We wanted to bring a new and inspiring perspective to the lesson and open the door to a range of career opportunities to pupils at Kennet School, Thatcham.”
